My laptop has USB 3.0 and the external hard drive I'm looking at is also 3.0, so the connection should be fairly fast. I have a fairly new laptop so I don't want to buy a new computer just yet. I'm specifically thinking about getting Komplete 9 Ultimate, though I've been eyeing ProjectSAM's stuff too. I'm saving up to buy more virtual instruments and the ones I'm eyeing are quite large.
